ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:
Hello world! I’m Ashland – a sweet southern gentleman with adorably silly ears and a heart full of love. I’m a fan of peaceful nature walks, car rides, and cuddles with my favorite humans. I walk nicely on a harness and make an excellent adventure buddy.
I can be a little shy at first, so I appreciate slow introductions and gentle encouragement. But once I trust you, I’ll shower you with affection, belly-up snuggles, and even some zoomies! I’m a calm, loyal companion looking for a quiet home where I can thrive.
Because I can get overwhelmed in busy or loud environments, I’m not suited for apartment, condo, or townhouse living. A single-family home with a fenced-in yard would be my ideal retreat.
HOW AM I WITH DOGS:
I prefer to be the only dog in the home. I like having all your love to myself!
HOW AM I WITH CATS:
No cats for me, please — I find them far too interesting.
HOW AM I WITH KIDS:
I need an adult-only home. The energy and unpredictability of kids is just too much for me.
I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS:
Sit, down – and I’ll happily show off even without treats!
MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING:
Not specifically mentioned, but I do great in calm environments and pick up on routines well. FOHA can provide more info if needed.
THINGS I LIKE:
Walks in the woods, car rides, belly rubs, treats, a quiet home, and snuggling with my favorite people.
THINGS I DISLIKE:
Loud, chaotic environments, fast introductions, city life, and apartment living
