**Meet Laney – Your Future Cuddle Buddy!**AVAILABLE NOW BUT IF STILL SEEKING MY FUREVER FAMILY - MEET ME AT THE PAWS & PINTS ADOPTION EVENT & FUNDRAISER ON SATURDAY, JUNE 14 FROM NOON-4PM, LOCATED AT OAT SODA 197 S BROADWAY ST, LAKE ORION, MI 48362! Hello, kind-hearted humans! My name is Laney, and I’m on the lookout for my forever family! I’m a sweet little girl who may be a bit timid at first, but once I warm up to you, my heart is bursting with joy and excitement to be by your side! I was found as a stray, so my past is a mystery, but I’m ready to embrace a bright future filled with love and adventure. I enjoy going for walks and exploring a fenced yard where I can safely roam and play. For my safety, it’s best that I’m not kept on a tether, as I flourish best in a secure environment where I can stay close to my human. While I can tolerate small dogs, I would really prefer to be the only dog in the home. This way, I can soak up all the love and attention you have to give! I thrive in environments with older kids or adults who can help me feel safe and secure. One of my favorite things to do is cuddle! I’m a true snuggle bug who enjoys affection and companionship. I love to explore the fenced yard, but I always stay close by your side.  If you’re looking for a loving companion who will bring warmth and joy to your life, I would love to meet you! Together, we can create a serene home where I can flourish and be the happiest version of myself.  With wagging tail and tender cuddles,  Laney  Laney is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedWill be spayed at one of our vet offices in Macomb or Oakland County. ADOPTION FEE: $375 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. Story
Dug from Up A17564761 lb. neutered male, approx 1 year old -The pictures depict a happy go lucky boy….but he’s not always like that!-This sweet, scared boy is so overwhelmed by shelter life. Dug trembles in his kennel, fear taking over his whole body. But beneath that fear… is a dog who so badly wants to trust.-When I sat with him, I could tell he just wanted to trust me. He wouldn’t come out on his own and needed to be carried outside. There he just stood over my legs—still shaking, still unsure—but not trying to run. He just wanted to be near someone.-And then… slowly… Dug crawled into my lap. Pressed himself against me. Let me hold him. His shaking began to ease. His tail was still tucked, but I could feel the shift—his heart starting to open. He soaked up every bit of love I had to give.-After some much needed snuggle time, he walked all the way back inside like a brave boy!-In the photo room, the real Dug started to peek through—cautious but curious. A few play bows, some gentle kisses and even a few chin nibbles. -He even showed slight interest in a ball very briefly-He finally accepted a few treats too! Then rolled over for belly rubs and reassurance. Finally more relaxed!-Under all this fear is a playful, loving, loyal puppy who just hasn’t had the chance to feel safe. But once he does? He will blossom.-He even perked up when he saw another dog playing outside. We think a calm, confident doggie friend could help Dug find his confidence too! Slow and proper intros are an absolute must to ensure he’s safe and comfortable with a new friend. He’s been through too much to take any chances and he deserves the best chance he can get! -Dug didn’t choose this life. He doesn’t deserve to be this scared here.-What he does deserve? A home. A patient heart. A soft place to land. A forever person who will never give up on him.-His name is Dug—from Up—and just like the movie, he’s the kind of dog who, once he loves you… he’ll love you forever.Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
