Hi! My name is Sky and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good Samaritan on 06/11/25.I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!I weigh 63 lbs and am considered a large breed dog.I am a very smart dog! At the shelter I am practicing how to `sit`.I am an independent dog who likes to do my own thing!Because of my shy nature, I would do best in a calm, quiet home.I would do best in a home with older children.

Story
Hi! My name is Ramsey and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by an Animal Control Officer on June 3, 2025. When I arrived at RASKC it appeared that I have been on my own for awhile.I weigh 48.0 lbs, but I am quite underweight. When at a healthy weight I would be considered a `large breed` dog.I am very treat motivated and will `sit` for them, but watch your fingers because I am not the most gentle when taking them yet!I am unsure of new things and people so I am looking for a patient family who understands I am a work in progress! Because of my shy nature, I would do best in a calm, quiet home without younger children (fast movements and loud noises startle me).My caregivers mention that I walk great on leash and appear to be potty-trained.I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
***Currently located in Troncones, Mexico*** I’ve had quite the journey, but I’m ready for a fresh start and a life full of love and fun. Let me tell you a little about where I came from. I was abandoned on the beach in Buena Vista when I was just a pup. I had a broken leg and was left to fend for myself. I ended up at a house where some kind people took care of me for a while, feeding me and helping me heal. But after a few months, the owner decided I couldn’t stay there anymore, and I was sent to a new place—a farm in Pantla. However, I was so scared in this new home that I managed to escape only a few days after arriving. And then, for an entire year, no one knew where I was. But one day, a sweet local soul found me wandering the streets of Pantla—thin, scared, and hungry. I wasn’t looking too shabby anymore, though—my leg had healed and I was walking just fine. The nice human girl took me in and gave me a safe space to rest and recover, and I’ve been living with her ever since, waiting for my forever family to come along. Now, I’m about 2 years old, and I’m full of energy! I love to run, play, and swim in the water at the beach. I can be easily distracted when something catches my attention, but once I set my mind on something, I’m super focused and determined to reach my goal. I’m a very sociable guy, getting along well with other dogs and people. But I do have a soft spot for affection—I’ll even lie on top of you if I feel safe and loved! I’m still learning a lot, though. I’m not the best with cats—especially if they’re not very friendly—and I need a bit of training to improve my leash skills. Sometimes I get nervous, especially when someone raises their voice or holds something in their hand, because I think I may have been hurt in the past. But with patience and understanding, I’m growing stronger and learning to trust again. If you’re looking for an energetic, loving dog who just wants to be your buddy, I could be the perfect match! I’m ready to leave my past behind and start a new chapter with a family who will help me reach my full potential. Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hi I'm Sora, I’m a super sweet and happy-go-lucky husky mix who’s always ready for fun! I have so much love to give, and I can’t wait to find my forever family. When the volunteers from Surfers for Strays first met me, they found me tied to a tree with very little space to roam. The local family I am staying with loves me, I know for sure, because they feed me well and always make sure I have fresh water, but I would need so much more exercise that they can provide for me. Unfortunately, where I live it is not very common to walk their dogs, so other than the occasional trip to the beach once every few months, I spend my days tied to the tree. Thankfully other dogs come by to play with me and sometimes even a chicken or a cat will spend a little bit of their time with me, so I am not getting too bored. My humans say, they cannot let me loose like the other dogs, cause I will run away to explore the world. Fences are not really a thing here, so nothing could hold me back - and everything just seems soo exciting! All the people and animals you can meet, all the smells you get to sniff and I am so curious about the world! So they have to tie me to keep me safe. They said, they don't want me to be run over by cars, whatever that means...? The volunteers brought a much longer leash for me, though, so now I have so much more room to jump around!  I adore people and greet everyone with a wagging tail and a big, goofy smile. I'm the kind of dog who will make every day brighter with my enthusiasm and affection. I will thrive in an active home with someone who can keep up with my playful spirit and give me all the love and attention I need. Oh, and have you seen my eyes? They’re the most stunning shade of blue—so bright and full of life! One look into them, and you’ll be hooked. My humans say they’re completely irresistible (and I have to agree!). Just recently the volunteers gave me a bath (meh) and then took me on a car ride (yey) to the beach (double yey) and it was such a fun day! I got to show how fearless and curious I am, how good I am with other people and also with dogs, which on leash I mostly ignored and on the beach I wanted to play with! It was really an awesome day and I hope I get to do it again soon. Maybe already with my furever family? Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Greetings! I’m Pancho.I’m a sweet and delightful fellow who has come a long way from my rough start in life...I was discovered on the street by a couple of kind hearted flight attendants who were on a layover. They could clearly see that I was limping with gruesome open wounds on my back legs and in urgent need of care. I was nursed back to health by the flight attendants and a compassionate couple who lives in the town. Together they got me proper veterinary treatment and my foster parents diligently cleaned and treated my wounds everyday. I now happily have a new lease on life!I am a fun loving playful dog with a heart-melting goofy face and sweet demeanor. I love humans and attention, especially pets on the head. I don't quite understand belly and back rubs, but I am learning to accept them! I promise to be your bff in no time!!   I love to play with my toys and go for walks. Even though I’m about two years old, I have a puppy-like attitude and demeanor and am always down for an adventure! I love to be the center of attention and would do great as the only pup in the house, but at the same time I have some really good dog friends at the shelter and with a slow intro I would make a great second dog too. I’ll definitely make sure to give you my full and undivided love!My foster parents moved back to Canada and I was transferred to the shelter a few weeks ago. I’m grateful to the volunteers here but it is not the ideal environment for me. I am looking for my forever home that will fit with all of my beautiful and unique qualities. I cannot wait to get to know my fur-ever family! Will I be your future buddy? Story
***Currently located in Guadalajara, Mexico*** My name is Ruffo!I am a three year old male mexi-mutt. I was discovered on March 8, 2023 in a collapsed house, very malnourished and afraid. My skin was in rough shape and I was missing my left hind leg. Some very kind humans carefully approached me, and when I realized they had food, I ran to them and they drove me to safety. When I got to the vet, the doctor said that I had scabies. I also had a papilloma wart in my mouth, but with medication, it was completely eliminated. The doctor also theorized my leg was possibly lost in an accident, since no scar was found from surgery. Given my health issues, euthanization was presented as an option. Luckily, my rescuers didn’t give up on me. They took me home to start my recovery. With the support of several people and after months of treatment, vitamins, medicated baths, and more, I began to get better. Now, I have only a scar from the scabies and a bit of alopecia in some places on my body - but my human friends say this has no effect on how wonderful of a pup I am!Now, I am 100% healthy! I love to run, play with other dogs, and go for walks, even though I only have three legs. Plus, I am great at riding in the car and walking on a leash. My humans say I’m a mellow, obedient dog who is great with kids and other pups! Plus, I’m super affectionate and love to get all the pets I can! The only thing I’d like you to remember is that I do get scared of loud noises, so I will come running to you for safety if I hear one.I am vaccinated, sterilized and dewormed. It doesn’t get much better than me! Will you give me a chance to be the newest member of your furever family?
