Story
Stripes is in the house! I am about 4 years old. I love my friend Patches! It has been Patches and Stripes for as long as I can remember. It would be great if we could be adopted together. However, since we have been looking for a forever home for a long time now (more than 2 years!), Patches and I have made the tough decision that we can be adopted to separate homes. We are hoping that this, plus our adoption fees being waived thanks to generous sponsors, will increase our chances of success. I am looking for that unique adopter who will love me and take care of me but will not expect a snuggly kitty in return. I am a pseudo scaredy cat. While I still have an instinct to hide when a person walks in the room, now I stop myself and do some stretching. It is very important to stretch before exercising. Also, I am bribable. So, when you want a little attention from me, I will take Churo from your fingers! I would prefer a home with another cat. While another cat in my home can only make life better, and help me come out of my shell, children and dogs are a big ICK. Seriously, cats rule! If you think that you could be that special someone for me, please learn more about me by filling out a no obligation cat adoption application. All of our cats are in foster homes. Please submit an application to start the process today! https://humaneloudoun.org/adopt/cat-adoption-application/

Story
Four years ago, we adopted Phoenix as a kitten from the county shelter in Loudoun County Viriginia. Phoenix is trained to pee in the potty. This makes litter maintenance super easy and mostly odorless. She is gentle and has good hygeine. She's fine with children, becomes anxious around commotion. It is not extreme. Her reaction is simply to remove herself. She takes time to warm up to people and generally seems to prefer fewer people. She has lived in a household of two to four people her entire life.

Story
Pepper is a sweet and cuddly young grey tabby with a penchant for exploration. She is quite independent, often spending most of the day (and sometimes all night!) exploring the yard on her own but will always comes home in the late afternoon with cheerful chirps and meows that update you on all of her adventures from the day and politely request some pets and attention. She also likes to snuggle with her humans at bedtime. Pepper is bonded to her brother Cosmo and we prefer to rehome them together. We love Pepper dearly and she is a great pet for our family, we just discovered after some time with them that two of our family members are quite allergic to cats and need to rehome her and her brother for the sake of everyone's health.

Story
Cosmo is a big ol; sweetheart looking for a home where he will get lots of love and cuddles. He is a total goofball who spends much of his time lounging around and looking for someone to lie next to or on top of. He is often quite shy with new people but once bonded follows his people around seeking pets and cuddles. He is a big guy - weighing about 21lbs without really being overweight. He likes to go outside in our yard just for a minute or two but then comes dashing back inside. He is also bonded to his sister, Pepper, so we are hoping to find a home for the two of them together. They do have the occasional spats (they are siblings, after all) but most of the time they hang out in different spaces and are affectionate with each other when they are together. We love Cosmo dearly and he is a wonderful cat, but we've discovered that two of our family members are very allergic to cats, causing lots of other health issues, so we have made the very hard choice to rehome him.

Story
Milo is a lovable, handsome, young guy who has been through a lot of changes in his short life. He was born in November of 2020. Now he is looking for someone who will love him and give him the forever home he needs to show just how much love he has to share. When Milo was only 2 years old, his brother and best cat friend passed away. After that, he tried his best to make the family dog his replacement friend but it just wasn't the same. Not long after that, a human family member became ill and Milo was taken to a shelter. All the noises at the shelter scared Milo but fortunately, he was only there for a day or two before he lucked out with a very kind, patient foster mom taking him home. When Milo arrived in his foster home, he was scared and has had to learn to trust again. Fortunately, his foster mom knew Milo had lots of love to give so with her patience and expert guidance from a cat behaviorist, Milo discovered the view from the top of the dresser was much better than the "obstructed view" beneath the dresser and pets from a human are really nice. Milo enjoys his foster mom's dog - when it isn't too crazy - so would probably be happiest in a home where he has a calm cat and/or dog buddy. He also needs a quiet home because loud, unexpected noises send him back to the "obstructed view." Older children in the home would be fine too if they are willing to let Milo come to them on his own terms. Milo also loves to talk so he will gladly tell you all about his day. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Story
I adopted this 4 year old cutie about 6 months ago. He was shy at first but has really come out of his shell. He likes to play with my 2 year old border collie. He really wants to play with my 13 year old cat, but that cat is a grump. He likes laying on your lap and being next to an open window. Unfortunately, in two months I have to move to another city and cannot find a place that will let me bring all 3 pets. Looking for a loving home for him to continue to play and be loved.

Story
Meet Luna! She is 2 years old and loves her humans and does well with dogs, kids and male cats. She does want to be the alpha female cat in the house so she might do best without another female cat. She only wants to lay on your lap and get her whiskers petted or curling up on top of a warm dryer. Luna has been an inside cat her whole life. She is spayed, litter box trained and up to date on her rabies shots.

An adult cat of 10 years looking for some companionship. He takes some time to warm-up and does require an experienced pet owner. His previous owner unfortunately had him declawed and I recommend a wheat based litter or he may avoid the litter box.

Story
Sophie is a gorgeous 7-year-old tabby with striking orange patches running down her back and tail. She has the perfect balance of independence and affection—she loves to cuddle on her terms but also enjoys her alone time, exploring her home with quiet curiosity. She’s a vocal girl who isn’t afraid to let you know when she wants attention, making her a delightful and engaging companion. As an adult cat, Sophie’s personality is well-established; she’s confident, loving, and easygoing, making her a wonderful fit for someone looking for a companion with a predictable and sweet nature. She would do well in a home that appreciates her affectionate side and independent streak. If you’re looking for a cat who will add warmth, charm, and a little conversation to your home, Sophie is the perfect match!

Story
We rescued Pepe April 2024 and quickly fell in love with him. We were told he was about 7 yrs old at that time. He started to have some play aggression, so we got a second cat Hot Sauce at 4 months old and as you can see they are good friends. We prefer both to separate them! We are moving overseas and can’t take them. They are playful but chill, friendly but not too friendly, and would prefer to sleep beside a human, but don’t have to. Pepe seems to prefer women, but likes boys, too. Cat trees and other gear included!

Story
I am moving abroad to the UAE and need to rehome my cat. I've had Rupi since she was a kitten. She's a little ober 7 years old now. She's very sweet, highly food motivated, and has little quirks. She loves to play with lights and small toys. She's very good a killing bugs and mice. She's best being the only pet. She's never really had to be around another cat, but when she was around a dog for several years she got bad anxiety. She has an automatic feeder and an automatic water fountain which I am happy to give along with her. She doesn't like having an automatic litter box. She has two litter boxes - one to poop in and one to pee in. She has crate, but hasn't used it since she was a kitten. I'm also happy to give that along with her as well. She'll eat any kind of food and loves treats.

Story
We adopted Bear five years ago and she quickly adapted to our crazy household with three kids and two dogs. She is a "snuffler" and was taken off the streets a few years back after recurrent upper respiratory infections which cause her to be sneezy. She has no lingering effects of her past infections and has gotten a clean bill of health each time she goes to the vet! She's just a bit... snuffly. Our family is moving and can't take Bear with us, and while it's sad to lose a member of our family, we hope she'll complete another family in the same way she completed ours. Bear can be a bit sassy, a LOT snuggly, and never misses a meal. We know she'll choose a good family (because they choose us, right?)

Story
Charli Girl is a girls best friend. She’s very ladylike, enjoys cuddling, doesn’t mind dressing up. I don’t think she has an aggressive bone in her petite body! Due to health challenges I need to rehome her in a loving home. This is truly heartbreaking for me but I must do what’s best for her. If you have a big heart please consider spoiling Charli Girl.

Story
Rescued abandoned Sheba who was pregnant at the time and gave birth to 3 kittens. Due to the recommendation of the family doctor with my wife receiving treatment for stage 4 cancer, we cannot keep Sheba or any of the kittens. As heartbreaking as this is, Sheba is receiving treatment for an infection that has caused her not to produce any more milk. 2 week old kittens are having a difficult time adjusting to bottle feeding. Need to relocate Sheba ASAP. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Meet Rocket! Rocket came to us as a kitten. Since having him, he has gotten neutered and is up to date on his rabies shots. He loves to play. He is a huge needy cat and LOVES attention. He has never been around dogs. He has been around other cats but hasn’t really gotten a long with them. Rocket hasn’t been around kids too much but when he has, he’s done great. He would be perfect for someone who has a lot of time for him. He is liter trained. He will eat dry food but also loves wet food here and there!
